Irish Men's Convention – What is Man?

What does manhood mean? What is true manliness? Is being a man ‘a thing’ any more?
It really does depend on who you ask. There are many different answers and it has become a difficult question to ask. Perhaps the issue of gender has never before been so relevant. Does God have anything to say on the subject? What kind of pronouns might he choose to describe us and does it really matter?
This year, Don Carson will help us think through the answers to the question, ‘What is man?’. He will be delving into the earliest chapters of the Bible, the backdrop to the whole story of God’s rescue of men who’ve rejected their creator and attempted to reduce any evidence of our having being created by him.
We are running two conferences on the same day – a first for IMC. Do make sure you book early to get your preference. Very much looking forward to seeing you there.

CHAIR’S WELCOME

Welcome to the Irish Men’s Convention website.

Trevor Johnston IMC is now into its third year and we are so delighted that over 2000 men have been part of our conferences with over 6000 visiting our site to date. God has been so kind to us and we pray that he will use IMC for his glory and building up men in both their confidence in the gospel and godliness in their lives. We want to serve you and your church to this end, so our resources are free for your use. Why don’t you sit down with some of the other blokes in your church over a takeaway and take in one or two of the sessions? That way you’ll be growing in Christ with other brothers.

We are really looking forward to the 2019 conferences (two in one day!). Don Carson has blessed so many of us on this island. He is one of the most significant teachers and leaders of the early part of this century and we are looking forward to hearing what he has to say about godly manhood. Make sure you get your tickets – we sold out in 8 hours in 2018.

It’s good to meet you, virtually! It’ll be even better face to face.

God Bless,
Trevor Johnston Signature

About IMC

IMC Logo

The Irish Men’s Convention is organised by an interdenominational group of evangelical Christian men comprising Colin Campbell, Moore Casement, Robin Fairbairn, Trevor Johnston, Jonathan McClaughlin and Andrew Roycroft. The aims and beliefs of the IMC are the same as Christian Conventions. Further theological convictions may be found at the t4g website (t4g.org). Above all, we share the belief that “all Scripture is God breathed” and is “useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3: 16). Our prayer is to see men of all ages transformed by God’s living word.
